Monday, August 29th 

Free Bootcamp at Columbus Commons, starting at 5:30pm. All you need to do is sign the online wavier prior to coming. You can find that on their website. Also, make sure to check the schedule for the week. They offer cardio, yoga, kickboxing and more. All of these classes are free!

Join The Hills Market – Downtown for pizza and drinks during their weekly Charity Happy Hour in support of Future Possibilities Inc. Pizzas will start at a reduced price of $7.99, each pizza sold for the day increases The Hills Market Downtown donation. They will also be serving $2 bottles of beer and $4 glasses of wine. 100% of the tips earned go directly to the charity! 5-7 p.m.

Have you made it out to the Nature Center at Battle Darby Creek for their scavenger hunt? If not, do it this week! It is available from 9:00 am – 8:00 pm. While you’re there, take a look at the bison! 1415 Darby Creek Dr. Galloway, OH 43119

Clintonville Sandwich Shop will be hosting their last food pop-up at Global Gallery. They will be staying up late drinking beer, listening to music, telling stories and sitting by a bonfire!

Tuesday, August 30

Enjoy a FREE outdoor movie under the stars with your family at Town Square at Easton Town Center. They will be showing the Goonies, starting at dusk. Bring blankets/chairs/snacks.

This will be the last Tuesday COSI will be open until next year! Starting next week, they are closed for a month of cleaning and when they re-open, they will be closed on Monday and Tuesday!

I know my husband will be excited about this event! World of Beer on High Street will be tapping a keg of Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA at midnight! Often referred to as “the Holy Grail for hopheads”, this beer comes in at around 18% ABV. Details and tapping schedule here.

At 8:00, Shadowbox Live is hosting a Weird Al Tribute Show!! This is sure to be a good time! Te tickets are only $5. Reservations are recommended, food and drinks available!

Wednesday, August 31 

The four day, Sweet Corn Festival kicks off and continues through September 3rd. Head there to enjoy hot buttered sweet corn served fresh on the cob and piping hot. Bring the whole family to experience a wide variety of delicious foods, large midway, tractor pulls, square dancing, contests galore, historical exhibits and top-name country music entertainers while strolling the shady Historic Lions Park.

Head to the barn at Homestead to explore the fascinating world of our creepy crawlies. You and your kiddos can take a hike and catch insects. The event is at 10:00 and 1:00. 4675 Cosgray Rd. Hilliard, OH 43026.

Who loves Smoothie King? I do! This week they are having ‘Free Smoothie Day’ at the Polaris location. Thursday, September 1

On Thursdays, Franklin Park Conservatory holds a fun, nature-themed preschool program at no additional cost with admission. They usually read one or two stories, followed by a craft that fits the theme. It starts at 10:30.

Bring your preschooler to Slate Run to participate in their work and play day. You and your kiddo will experience some of the daily chores and fun of farm life in the 1880s through games and songs.While you’re there, you can walk a trail, check out the house, search for animals and so much more! Did you know every Thursday, Scioto Audubon does a nature-inspired story time for your kiddos at 10:00? After you’re done, make sure to check out everything else that they have to offer!

The Preview part of the BIA Parade of Homes starts at 6:00. At this event, you will get an exclusive first look at the 16 high-end luxurious homes well before the general public while enjoying a lively party atmosphere. The Preview Party features a progressive dinner, along with beverage pairings by Cameron Mitchell Restaurants Catering Company. All proceeds will benefit the BIA Foundation and Habitat for Humanity-MidOhio charities. Tickets are $85/person ($95 after August 24). Get more details here.

Looking for a new fall wreath? What about Ohio State themed? If yes, head to the fall wreath making class at Whole Foods. The class will be hosted by Kates Kustom Wreaths.The cost of the class is $40, which includes all supplies and a $20 donation to the Whole Kids Foundation, a movement dedicated to supporting schools and families to improve children’s nutrition and wellness.

Friday, September 2

Kids club is back at Whole Foods Easton. Crafts, coffee and snacks provided. Event is free and children of all ages are welcome! It starts at 10:00.  Later that night, join them for their one year birthday party! Join them for cake, wine, bubbly, music, photobooth, an exclusive Homestead Beer Company draft…and maybe some special surprises along the way! (Wine tasting is $5)

The 44th Greek Festival kicks off and lasts through Monday. This is an amazing way to experience the culture and ancestry of Greece and their Orthodox Christian Faith. The weekend will be filled with food, drinks, shopping, music and dancing!

Rhythm on the River at The Scioto Mile presents Ballet Met Columbus at 8:00 an evening of inspiration alfresco.This co-production with the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department will feature BalletMet dancers performing excerpts from the company’s 2016/17 season, including both classical and contemporary works. With the backdrop of the city, enjoy some of the most iconic moments from Romeo and JulietThe Nutcracker and Twisted 2, a collaboration between BalletMet, Opera Columbus and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra

Saturday, September 3

Tie Dye in The Park at Goodale Park. Create your own tie-dye masterpiece while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Goodale Park!$15 includes instruction, t-shirt, dye and all other necessary materials. Starting at 2. Pack lunch and picnic with them and enjoy the park while your t-shirt dries.

Head to Gahanna to enjoy a guided journey through the herb garden named after one of Gahanna’s most influential herb enthusiasts. You will see the new and exciting changes to the garden. The Geroux Herb Garden features a shaded wisteria arbor surrounded by a variety of types of herbs in different stages of development. It is also a great way to learn about companion plants combinations and native herb plantings. Event details here.

Highbanks summer movie series will feature Star Wars – The Force Awakens. They will have a few activities starting at 8pm, with the movie starting at dark. They provide popcorn, but, suggested bringing seating, snacks, drinks and bug repellant

Sunday, September 4

It’s All Natural is hosting the Vegan Autumn Pop-Up Market. They will have vegan food, sweets, cruelty-free handmade gifts, natural products and more. Prize raffles will be held throughout the event, with all proceeds going to Colony Cats (&dogs). Tree of Life will be there performing live music, as well as a fun photo booth sponsored by To The Stars Photography. Admission is free!

BeyFit will host their finally pop-up workout class at Nelson Park, back where it all started! They will celebrate Beyoncé’s Birthday in true BeyFit fashion with a “Best of BeyFit” workout revisiting some of our favorite excercies from classes 1-6, from HIIT to Hip-Hop to Yoga (and Boot(y)Camp!) even throwing in some celebratory B’Day Biscuits & Jamz (c) for our BeyFit friends who did or couldn’t make it to their ‘NamaSlay’ Brunch!

Free Shadowbox Live Show: A Tribute to Joe Cocker at Columbus Commons. Shadowbox Live will perform two hours of music from Joe Cocker’s prolific career. Bar and food trucks will kick things off at 6pm. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome, make sure to leave coolers at home.
