The Summer’s Not Over at Columbus Commons

School is starting back up this next week for many kiddos, which is a sure sign that summer for all (kiddos and adults alike) is coming to end. However, that doesn’t meant the summer fun has to end!!! Columbus Commons still has a fun list of events happening throughout the next few weeks.

Weekly Events

Fitness Classes 

No contracts, no excuses! If you haven’t gotten out to Columbus Commons to take part in their FREE fitness classes, you still have time!! Sponsored by UnitedHealthcare and coordinated by Ohio Fit Club, you’ll find seven classes every week. Only thing you need to do before going is fill out this waiver. 

Food Truck Food Court 

Ten of the best food trucks in Central Ohio gather in the heart of Downtown Columbus every Thursdays through October 25 – 11:00 am to 2:00 pm! They have the same 8 food trucks each week + a few bonus trucks each month!!

Taco Tuesday

Who doesn’t love tacos? The Burrito Bus, Cazuela’s,  El Sabor Street FoodMojo TagoPaddy WagonTaquitos Truck will all be there – how can you even choose? Not to make the decision even harder, but, don’t forget Columbus Commons staple – Tortilla Street Food. The LAST day to get in on the Tuesday fun is August 14th!

Special Events 

Free Movie Night: Toy Story 

Date: Sunday, August 19
Time: 6 PM – 8:30 PM
Admission: FREE
Starting at 6:00pm, bring the whole family down to enjoy FREE bouncehouses, slides, face painting, carousel rides and more! Then, settle down with a blanket or lawn chair under the stars for a free flick (no coolers please!).

Bruce Hornsby and The Noisemakers 

Date: Friday, August 24
Time: 6 PM
Admission: FREE
CAPA and Columbus Commons are partnering together to bring you a night of FREE music you won’t forget! Join us as Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers take the stage in the heart of Downtown Columbus.
Food trucks and a bar will be available at 6:00 pm. Music is set to begin at 8:00 pm. Blankets and chairs are welcome; please leave coolers at home.

Columbus Summer Wine Festival

Date: Saturday, August 25
Time: 12 PM – 10 PM
Admission: $25 – $35
This is the very first year for this event! The event, designed to showcase Ohio wines, will benefit the children’s’ charity CD102.5 for the Kids. The day-long celebration will also feature artisan exhibits, food trucks, specialty food items, and live musical entertainment. The event promises to provide a little bit of something for everyone in a location that is festival-friendly. This is event is 21+. You can purchase tickets here.

McGuffey Lane Concert

Date: Friday, August 31
Time: 6 PM
Admission: FREE
McGuffey Lane is back at the Commons! Their high-energy rock, country and contemporary music have been attracting attention throughout Ohio and the Midwest for nearly 20 years.

FREE Shadowbox Live Performance
Evolutionaries: The Stories and Music of David Bowie and Prince

Date: Sunday, September 2
Time: 6 PM – 10 PM
Admission: FREE
Shadowbox Live® pays tribute to two changelings who revolutionized music, fashion, and pop culture. This show is unlike any other!

Harvest Fair 

Date: Saturday, September 29
Time: 10 AM – 1 PM
Admission: FREE
There’s nothing quite like autumn in Ohio, so join us in the heart of Downtown Columbus as we welcome in the season! We’ve got pumpkins, games, crafts and plenty of room to play. And of course we have inflatables! The event is free to attend; a $5 wristband will get you access to all of the inflatables.
