While I would love to eat my way through the United States, indulging in each one of the state favorites along the way – it doesn’t seem like that dream trip on the agenda anytime soon. Lucky for me {and you}, we have something to hold us over.
During the second to last weekend in August (24th/25th), GateHouse Live Events & Promotions, Dispatch Media Group and Cameron Mitchell Restaurants have teamed up to bring back Flavored Nation to the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
What is Flavored Nation? Well, it’s a delicious, one-of-a-kind weekend of iconic foods from each of the 50 states prepared by rock star chefs representing each state. Yep, you read that right. 50 states. 50 iconic dishes. All under one roof. Feels like a foodie’s dream, right?
ย You’ll find comfort food such as Bison Meatballs from Montana, Shrimp and Grits from South Carolina, Cinnamon Rolls and Chili from Kansas and Lobster Rolls from Maine. However, you’ll also find things like Stuffed Quahogs form Rhode Island, Reindeer Sausage from Alaska, Tomato Pie from Alabama and Scrapple from Delaware.

On top of having the opportunity to taste each iconic dish, there will be demonstrations and entertainment + local vendors and artisans. Plus, renowned restaurateur, Cameron Mitchell will appear in person and autograph his new book, “Yes is the Answer! What is the Question?” on Sunday, August 25th from 12pm – 2pm.
If you get your tickets early, you can save $10 off the door price – making each ticket $45. Tickets include one day admission with ten food samples and six drink samples. Don’t worry, you are able to buy additional sample tickets at the event. If you’re wondering if this is kid friendly, this year, they’ve added in a children’s ticket! For kids 12 and under, you can get five food samples fro $15. Purchase tickets here.
