Do you ever feel like you find out about an event, think it looks like so much fun and after finding the details online, you realize the event already happened. UGH. That is the worst. This montlhy post aims to help prevent the FOMO of all the delicious food events happening around town. Well, not all of them (far too many to list), but, my top ten picks of the month!

Souper Heroes 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off

It’s here! The Souper Heroes 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off where Souper Heroes come together to show off their homemade chilis and join our friendly competition for the title of #SouperChili of the year. (Ok there is some friendly trash talk too ๐Ÿ˜‰

Attendees (chili eaters) will receive a (1) ticket when they arrive to use for voting. If you want to vote for more than one chili or “stuff the ballot box” of one of the chili makers additional tickets can be purchased will all proceeds going to the Donation Slow Cooker to benefit Holy Family Soup Kitchen & Food Pantry

Itโ€™ll be an afternoon of good chili, good friends, and friendly competition, all for a good cause! All Slow Cooker Donations will benefit Holy Family Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry.

Cheese Tasting Class, Red Wine Pairing

A series of guided cheese tastings paired with a variety of curated beverages. Pairings and themes rotate. Informative yet informal!

Tasting lead by John Reese, Cheesemaker/Co-Owner of Black Radish Creamery also a Certified Cheese Professional (CCP) of the American Cheese Society. He will dive into the stories behind the cheeses and guide the class through a selection 3-5 varietals of paired wines.Guests should walk away knowing how to identify the key characteristics in each of the cheeses as well as the paired beverage varietals.

Indian Regional Cuisine: Taste of Bengal

Indian food varies widely from region to region, just as each area has its own language, culture, and history. Westerners are most familiar with northern Indian dishes (such as naan, tandoori chicken and palak paneer to name a few), but the 29 states of India offer much more to explore. Dr. Bidisha Nag of Create Your Curry will guide you through some popular foods from her home state of West Bengal, located in the eastern part of India. The menu includes plain basmati rice with ghee, Moong Dal (yellow lentils) with cauliflower and peas, Chingri Machh Er Malai curry (shrimp in coconut sauce) and pineapple chutney.
