Visitors can register for guided tours to learn about history, process of maple sugaring.
On Saturday, Feb. 25, and Sunday, Feb. 26, The Dawes Arboretum will be hosting their Maple Syrup Days, where you can learn about the history and process of maple sugaring on a guided tour. While on the tour, you will get the chance to see how the syrup is tapped and then meander down the paved trail toward The Arboretum’s Log Cabin, where you can take a look inside.
“The Maple Syrup Days at The Dawes Arboretum are special because not only do they provide an educational experience to visitors, they serve as a reminder to appreciate the great natural resources we have right in our own backyard,” said Luke Messinger, Executive Director for The Dawes Arboretum.
The walking tour is included in Arboretum admission and will last approximately 45 minutes, with a new tour beginning every 15 minutes. Admission is first come, first served.
“We hope that as many people as possible take advantage of the opportunity to learn about this fascinating process. We encourage those who come out for the tour to dress warm and be prepared for a unique outdoor winter experience,” said Messinger.
Tours will last from 1 to 3 p.m. each day.
Admission is $10/Adult, $5/Ages 5-15, Free/5 and Under
