Buckeye Imagination Museum in Mansfield is a MUST VISIT for Younger Kids

Buckeye Imagination Museum is a hands-on, play-based children’s museum located halfway between Cleveland and Columbus in Mansfield, Ohio. With over 30 interactive exhibits that encourage open-ended, imagination-based play, Buckeye Imagination Museum is an ideal destination for family visits with children ages 2-10 years. The museum features exhibits that support real-life experiences that many children are already familiar with, allowing them to further explore the world around them. Children can discover dinosaurs, fight fires, pilot planes, and so much more at Buckeye Imagination Museum!

Wow! Wow! Wow! We LOVED Buckeye Imagination Museum. I hadn’t been to the previous location, only heard of it, so I had no expectations. The girls had a BLAST and would have stayed all day if we could. There are so many opportunities to use their imagination throughout the entire space. Building, dressing up, pretending to be a beautician in the salon, putting on a show at the theatre, and so much more. The space was spotless, and the staff was sweet.

The museum is broken down into different galleries. The first gallery is the Yellow Gallery, which includes the lobby. The lobby has ample seating, a snack counter, water fountains, and family restrooms. Walking a bit further is the indoor playground with slides and climbers, an airport exhibit, Giant blue bocks, camping, and a racetrack exhibit.

Walking up the ramp leads you to the blue gallery. It includes a Bank, Pizzeria, Construction, Fire Truck, Grocery Store, Car Wash, Emergency Room & Pediatric Care Exhibit, Eye Doctor, Theatre, McDonald’s, Salon, Train, Garden, Dino Dig, Dentist, Ice Cream Shop, Schoolhouse, Post Office, and Farm Exhibits. Whew. That was A LOT, ha, but they do offer so much! I read that they are even adding a water table, which I think they had at the previous location?

Tip: Make sure you show your COSI membership when you arrive. It allowed you to get 50% off of admission, making it $7 per person!

We could have spent a few more hours playing, exploring and using our imagination if we didn’t have other plans to get to.

They have a few snacks, drinks, Starbucks Frappuccinos in bottles and Keurig Coffee for purchase, but you can bring a lunch. They have tables!
