Discover the Magic of the Wildflower Fairy Trail at Infirmary Mound Park

Are you ready for a magical adventure? Get ready to be transported to a land of fairies and other wee folk! The Wildflower Fairy Trail opens at Infirmary Mound Park in Granville, Ohio on Saturday, May 4th, 2024.

This whimsical trail is a must-see for all ages.

The Fairy Trail features over 45 fairy homes and businesses, each with their unique personalities and style. When you begin the trail, you’ll be greeted with a heartwarming story called “The Fairy Garden.” It’s the perfect way to start your magical adventure and get into the fairy spirit.

The trail is open from May through September, and more fairies will be moving in at times over the summer. Will you be able to find them all? Don’t forget to pick up a map at the sign near the playground before you begin your journey. Don’t worry if there aren’t any, there are many signs along the way directing you where you need to go.

To access the trail, park at Shelter 6 parking area. It’s a short 1/4 mile walk to the start of the Wildflower/Fairy Trail. But, if Shelter 6 is full, don’t worry! You can park at Shelter 5/horse gravel lot and follow the signs from there as well. The path leading back to the fairy trail is a combination of paved and terrain surfaces. While it is possible to navigate the trail with a stroller, it’s slightly easier if you can go without one!

The trail itself is a mixture of grass and an unpaved trail. It’s not super rigorous, and if bringing a stroller, I recommend bringing a stroller that’s made for off-roading like the BOB stroller.

While visiting the fairy trail, please follow the Fairy Directives. The wee folk kindly ask that you be kind, follow all current health guidelines, leave no trace, stay on the trail, and leave houses as you found them. Remember, glitter, trash, and plastic can hurt the fairy friends, so let’s keep the trail clean and magical for everyone.

Shelter 6 has swings, and Shelter 5 has the cutest natural play area, perfect for a picnic or a break during your adventure. They’ve recently added a covered sand area – make sure to bring a few toys! Both shelter areas have bathrooms.

Infirmary Mound Park is around 30 minutes from Columbus, with the park being a mile or two off the exit. But, trust us, it’s worth the drive to experience the magic of the Wildflower Fairy Trail.
