Fun Spots for the Week: May 16 – May 22

  • Head to the Dublin Community Recreation Center for Preschool Open Gym on Monday morning.
  • Meet Columbus Landmarks at North Market on Monday at 7 p.m. for a FREE educational walk, where you’ll be led by expert historians and guides throughout the Arena District area.
  • Monday, join The Hills Market Downtown for a happy hour of pizza and drinks in support of the Tour de H2O. Pizzas will start at a reduced price of $7.99, and each pizza sold for the day increases The Hills Market Downtown donation to the Tour de H2O! They will be serving $2 bottles of beer and $4 glasses of wine.
  • Head to The Columbus Zoo for Little Explorers’ Base Camp – Down on the Farm on Tuesday or Thursday morning, from 10:00 – 12:00. Included with admission to the zoo (or membership).
  • Wolf’s Ridge Brewing is hosting the Ohio Creative Collective’s Made Local Vendor Pop-Up, featuring 5 Ohio craft businesses, from 2:00 – 8:00 in the tap room.
  • Join the young professionals of LINC at Copious on May 18 for the first installment of their 2016 Speaker Series featuring Kathleen Day, owner of Katalina’s. Get tickets and details here.
  • On Wednesday or Thursday, 10:00 or 1:00, kiddos can scoop critters from the melted ice skating pond at Blendon Woods. Naturalists will be there helping them to identify the baby insects and amphibians that they find. Make sure to check the age group for each time!
  • Bring your little ones for a nature-inspired story or two at Grange Insurance Audubon Center on Thursday at 10:00.
  • Head to the Worthington Community Center for their FREE Touch a Truck and Safety Event on Friday, May 20th! They start it out at 9:30, with a no horn hour for one hour. Kiddos will have the opportunity to climb aboard and get behind the wheel of their favorite vehicles, ask their operators questions and meet some of their hometown heroes.
  • Get tickets for The Ohio Craft Beer Fest at Huntington Park on Friday night.
  • Head to Skullys on Friday night to see one of the BEST local bands – The Floorwalkers!
  • Celebrate Plain City’s Amish heritage at the annual Der Dutchman Heritage Day. You can take part in activities and demonstrations, all while enjoying delicious food!
  • Participate in Columbus Birth & Parenting’sย  “No Child Wet Behind” diaper drive and 5k. You’ll be helping to raise money for families in need of diapers. (You can join my team for this!)
  • Easton is hosting their Second Annual Food Fest this coming weekend! Friday features local food trucks, Saturday’s adventure includes a pub crawl around the world and Sunday is the sweetest day of them all with treats from Easton restaurants!
  • Saturday, entertainer and origami artist Michael Roy Baldridge presents amazing folded paper creations to celebrate opening day of Origami in the Garden at Franklin Park Conservatory. Free with admission!
  • Saturday kicks-off of the 2016 Columbus Metro Parks GeoTrail at 9:00 a.m. at Highbanks Metro Park in the Dragonfly Day Camp off Powell Road.
  • Head to the Clintonville or Worthington Farmer’s market and snag some local treats on Saturday morning.
  • Visit The Columbus Museum of Art on Sunday. It is FREE for the ENTIRE family ALL day on Sunday!
