Fun Spots for May 30 – June 5

  • Here is a full list of Memorial Day Events throughout Columbus in remembrance of the people who lost their lives while serving our country in the armed forces.
  • The Santa Cruz Candy Company is having their grand opening on Monday, featuring a parade, games, crafts, face painting and more!
  • Bring your library card to Gateway Film Center for a FREE showing of Jurassic Park at 11 or 2 throughout the week. Click the link for exact dates.
  • Drive out to Battelle Darby Creek nature center for a family scavenger hunt! While you’re there, check the bison out.
  • Wednesday, Easton Town Center’s exclusive concert series “Sounds on the Town” starts. It will feature a mix of local and regional performance. This week, Gregg Swan & The Late Crew will be performing.
  • Ironwood Wolves will bring an ambassador animal and teach you all about the family life, habitat and diet of wolves at The Old Worthington Library on Wednesday at 7.
  • Easton Farmers Market kicks off on Thursday afternoon. Cucinova will be there with customized pizzas, pastas, and salads for you to sample.
  • Thursday evening, POGA (pop up yoga – free) is BACK! This week it takes place at Wexner Center for Arts. Check-in between 6 and 7 to enjoy free gallery entrance for the exhibition Martin Wong: Human Instamatic.
  • The Buckeye Tailgaters will kick off the summer concert series hosted by The Shops on Lane Avenue. Enjoy the outdoors with live music, great shopping and amazing restaurants with friends and family! Make sure to bring a lawn chair. Music starts at 7:00 in the courtyard.
  • Pack a picnic and bring your kiddos to the Village Green for a fun and free afternoon concert with Mr.Eric on Friday. The Worthington Library and Worthington International Friendship Association (WIFA) will provide a free kids craft, and Sock Hop Soda Shop will have ice cream treats for purchase starting at 11! 
  • The Gateway and CD102.5 team up to bring you Local ‘n Live, a local music series on Friday (5-9pm) and Saturday (3-9pm) at the World of Beer outdoor beer garden! (This happens each weekend throughout July 30).
  • Make sure to check out the National Road Yard Sale. Miles and miles of sales, going from Gratiot in the east to Reynoldsburg in the west.
  • All weekend, you can enjoy all things strawberry at the Newark Strawberry Festival.
  • Join the farmer in feeding animals and help with other barnyard chores out at Slate Run Farm.
  • Hills Market Downtown will be hosting their summer wine tasting Friday evening. Just $15 gets you 10 samples to taste from over 20 different wines, beers and summery cocktails! Snacks and summer bbq food will be provided as well to all attendees! This is one of my favorite wine tastings. Make sure to purchase tickets before going.
  • The highly anticipated Spray and Play at Veterans Park will have their grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday morning. Refreshments will be served from 10:30-12!
  • The Short North Civic Association will host this year’s Short North Yard Sale on Saturday, June 6 from 9:00am to 3:00pm. The daylong treasure hunt takes place in the neighborhoods around the Short North Arts District, including Victorian Village, Harrison West, Italian Village, Dennison Place, and The Circles. Over 150 sales will be participating in this year’s event!
  • Lucky’s Market is helping to support new neighborhood school Red Oak Community School with an ice cream social! $3 for a local ice cream + yummy toppings- all money goes right to Red Oak, so bring cash!
  • Summer in the 614 Festival (Saturday) will combine all things great about the Columbus area into one incredible evening. Sit on the grass and enjoy local musicians, family activities, games, food vendors and much more. Music from 4-8:30 PM. Activities from 4-7 PM. The Floorwalkers will play at 7:15!!!
  • The HOKA ONE ONE Columbus 10K is one of the oldest races in Ohio, and is considered “The Oldest Road Race in Columbus will take place on Sunday morning.
  • Simply Vague will host Made LOCAL Marketplace Summer Show from noon – 6:00 at Polaris Fashion Place. There will be over 125 local vendors!
