Katalinas, a restaurant located in Victorian Village, is a beloved spot among Columbus locals and it’s not hard to see why. The restaurant is housed in a 100-year-old gas station and offers a creative menu that focuses on using local and seasonal ingredients, all while putting their own unique spin on classic homemade dishes. One example of their inventive menu is their nutella-filled pancake balls – a dish that takes the classic combination of pancakes and nutella to the next level. Served alongside their homemade Sweet ‘N’ Spicy Bacon and syrup, it’s a culinary experience that you won’t want to miss.

Rest assured, seeing a long line outside Katalinas is a common occurrence, but trust us, it’s well worth the wait. In fact, you might even end up making a new friend while waiting in line! And if you’re anything like me and struggle to decide what to order, the extra time gives you a chance to peruse their creative menu.

If the parking lot is full, don’t fret. Katalinas is situated in a neighborhood with ample on-street parking available.

At Katalinas, every table has a story to tell from previous visits. The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, with each table carrying its own unique charm.

I recommend visiting Katalinas with friends who are willing to share dishes.

Katalina’s signature pancake balls are a must-try! Made using locally sourced stoneground flour from Fowler’s Mill, these fluffy delights are filled with a choice of Nutella, dulce de leche, or Cooper’s Mill pumpkin-apple butter. They’re served with pure maple syrup sourced locally and a side of Katalina’s Original Sweet ‘N’ Spicy Bacon™ or regular bacon. For an extra kick, you can add Katalina’s Original Sweet ‘N’ Spicy Bacon™ syrup. And if you’re a vegetarian, you can opt for veggie sausage to go with your pancake balls.

Indulge in the Southern Brown Betty Biscuit Balls, a savory dish that features three Southern-style biscuit balls stuffed with Beeler’s ham, Cooper’s Mill apple butter, and melted local Amish cheddar. It’s served with two eggs cooked over easy or sunny-side up, making for a filling and delicious meal.

Chick ‘Wich Breakfast Sandwich A crispy fried Gerber chicken breast, brined in buttermilk and coated in crushed Shagbark corn chips, topped with a sunny-side up egg, local Amish cheddar, and a touch of Frank’s Red Hot sauce, all served on a fluffy ciabatta bun. (*Vegetarian option available without the chicken)

For your breakfast meat, you can’t go wrong with Katalina’s famous Original Sweet ‘N’ Spicy Bacon™, or stick with classic regular bacon.
