Located in the Short North, Cameron Mitchell does it again with “The Guild House.” With a focus on seasonal and local ingredients, The Guild House brings us creative American cuisine. The Guild House is Cameron Mitchell’s first farm-to-table themed restaurant. To them, that means bringing us the freshest ingredients wherever possible. Starting with partnerships between two or three farms, they are up to thirteen or fourteen – including farms such as Blue Jacket Dairy in Bellefontaine and Honey Run Farm in Williamsport. Lucky for us, they have also partnered with Dan the Baker right here in Columbus. Not only is their food locally sourced as much as possible, the decor inside has local features. The beams across the ceiling are from a local barn, the artwork on the walls are from a local artist and the tables are locally made. The space is extremely gorgeous and inviting.
One thing that really stuck out to me while visiting was the passion that the chefs had for their food. While speaking with them, I could tell how excited they were for us to try their food, as well as tell us about their upcoming fall menu. You can always taste a difference in the food when the chefs put their heart into, which is exactly what they’re doing at The Guild House.
