Just the other day I was in the Short North and noticed a new Shake Shack. Truth being told, I had NO IDEA they were already planning a second location and that it was already being built. I am not sure how I let this one get by me.
I guess the best part of not knowing it was coming is not having to wait that long for it to open. Just got official word that it is set to open WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4th at 11am. Yes, that is NEXT WEEK!!
Just like the Easton location, they will have a few unique frozen custard concretes.
Berry Blender – Vanilla custard, strawberry purée, shortbread cookie, rainbow sprinkles
Brownie Points – Vanilla custard, salted caramel sauce, Fox in the Snow Cafe salted caramel
chocolate brownie, chocolate toffee
Pie Oh My – Vanilla custard blended with pieces of Fox in the Snow Cafe seasonal pie
As part of Shake Shack’s mission to Stand For Something Good ® , The Short North Shack will donate 5% of sales from the Pie Oh My concrete to Columbus Gives Back , a nonprofit that provides local households in need with access to sufficient, nutritious food.
Another fun addition, you will be able to wash your burgers down with local brews from Taft Brewing Co. (coming soon) plus Shake Shack’s exclusive Brooklyn Brewery ShackMeister® Ale. Wine lovers can enjoy a glass of Shack RedTM and Shack WhiteTM wine from the Gotham Project.
When I drove by last weekend, two things caught my eye: the mural and the patio.
The Shack will feature an outdoor patio with ample seating for guests. The building will also feature three permanent public art murals by Ryan Sarfati and Eric Skotnes. In keeping with Shake Shack’s commitment to green architecture and eco-friendly construction, the Short North Shack’s tabletop will be made by CounterEvolution using reclaimed bowling alley lanes; chairs will be designed by Uhuru using sustainable materials; and booths will be crafted by Staach using lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
So, there you have it. All the sneak peek details you need! Oh, and one more thing – – If you’re one of the first 100 people in line when doors open at 11 a.m. – you will receive a custom Shake Shack Lamp Apparel (another Short North gem)
Opening Date: Wednesday, September 4th at 11 a.m.
Location: 740 N. High Street on the ground level of the forthcoming Graduate Columbus
PS: Skip the line with the Shack App, a mobile ordering app that lets you save time by ordering ahead! Guests can select their location, pick their food, choose a pickup time and their meal will be cooked-to- order and timed to arrival. Available on iOS and Android.
