As soon as I saw the weather was going to actually feel like fall, I knew I had to get the girls out to do all the fall things. The first thing that came to mind was taking them to a pumpkin patch. Once I started looking, everything looked like a blast – but, also a little too big for the girls. Then I remembered taking my nanny kids each year to Jacquemin Farms in Plain City. They offer all of the fall essentials in a smaller, less overwhelming space – making it perfect for the little ones.
If you’ve been before, know that they do not offer an actual pumpkin patch anymore.
If that isn’t on your must have list, I promise you won’t be disappointed. They have a great store with the typical farmers market vegetables, local jams & packets to help make your fall baking easier, apple cider slushees, donuts, caramel apples and a few other treats. Outside, they have a small barn with a hay maze, two corn boxes with toys and two slides. It’s not a huge space, making it perfect or the younger kids. And even though they don’t have a pumpkin patch, they have a TON of pumpkins to pick from + gourds and your other typical fall items.
The cost is $2 per child. If you have a siblings that are younger than one, they are FREE with PAYING sibling. Worked out for us. I paid $2, basically buy one get two free.
Oh, and PSA – Having triplets is not “Buy One, Get two FREE.” It’s “Get Three, Pay for THREE!” If you think it is, let me know how I can get that deal on all the things. Ya know, like sports, cars, clothes (minus JC Penny Buy 1, Get 2), college, music classes, food, diapers, etc. ๐ ๐
They have two boxes filled with corn kernels. They also have more than enough toys for the kids to play with, including shovels, trucks, buckets and more.
These two rascals wouldn’t keep the corn out of their mouth. After 15-20 minutes of attempting to keep it out, they got kicked out! Ha. Laughing because I put them outside of the box, where they were free to crawl to all the hay and corn kernels they desired. Even though we weren’t able to spend a long time in the corn box, I still think it was fun (and important) to get them in there for a fun sensory activity!
Thank you to the strangers who always take my pictures! I love that they never wait to take the picture when we’re all looking and smiling. They capture the real moments.
We didn’t go into the maze, but as you can see – it isn’t huge. This means the little ones won’t get lost, like the bigger ones out there! Also, if you have a little kid and a big kid with you, this is the perfect set-up. The corn box is just feet from the maze and you an easily see the entrance and exit. Makes it easier to multi-task safely!
Next to the barn, is the shop I talked about earlier. It has multiple entrances and has all the fall essentials. Freshly picked vegetables, caramel apples, donuts, slashes, pumpkins, gourds and more.
In the back area, they have the perfect IG photo spot and place to have a snack/lunch. Keep in mind, they do have a few tables out by the barn, too!
The tomatoes looked so delicious, I had to pick up a few.
As I mentioned, they did get rid of their pumpkins patch out back – however, they still have a ton of pumpkins for purchase. They range in price. For the pumpkin per lb, they are .50/lb. I picked one out and then weighed it before I bought it, just to make sure it wasn’t a $20 pumpkin. Never know how strong you are until you have to carry three babies 24/7. The scale is inside and if you just ask the ladies at the front, they will help you!
If you go-to Jacquemin Farms, there are THREE things you MUST get. NO questions asked.
Caramel Apple | Apple Cider Slushee
Freshly Made Donut
Is there a better fall trifecta out there? I think not!
Of course we had to pick up a few things to decorate the front porch. FYI – the small hay is $5 and the MUCH BIGGER hay is $7. I didn’t realize the size difference. Oops. Also, TIP — if you are decorating the front porch (or any space), look for a pumpkin with a flat side. It sits so much nicer against a flat surface.
We had such a great time, even if we were only there about an hour. The staff is fantastic, the play area in the barn is perfect for smaller kids and the treats inside are delicious.
Another great thing, making it less overwhelming than other places, the parking lot is close, just feet from the entrance to the store/barn/all the things. You don’t have to walk far at all to enjoy everything they have to offer.

It doesn’t look like they have a website anymore and aren’t very active on IG. They do update facebook frequently! Keep an eye on events/specials as they come up.
