The highly anticipated Great Pumpkin Glow is here and it was a BLAST! From the food trucks to the s’mores to the music to the trail with over 1,000 pumpkins – I really think that Westerville did a fabulous job with this event! We went on the first night and everything seemed to run very smoothly.
The event takes place behind Everal Barn at Heritage Park. If you’ve ever noticed how the road keeps going when you turn right into the parking lot at Everal Barn, well that’s it. That’s what leads you to the glow! However, that is not where you park! There are a few places surrounding to park and each one offers a shuttle ride. We opted to park at the church across the street and walk, as we had a triplet stroller and it doesn’t fit well on strollers. Walking took around 10 minutes, not too bad. With that being said, if I didn’t have the stroller, I would have totally taken the shuttle!
As soon as we walked up, we saw the food trucks and went straight for them. It ended up being a great choice because there was a little bit of a line to get in. The line did move quickly, but we were able to enjoy our delicious haystack from Legacy BBQ while waiting.
As soon as we made it through the gates, the girls were mesmerized. They loved all of the pumpkins, glowing or not.
You first come up to the creative arts area, which is home to crafts, popcorn and s’mores over the fire. The girls were a bit too young for this area, so we didn’t explore much of it.
I love this little playground at Heritage Park. It has everything you need. On the other side, there are four or five swings.
Everything was pretty well spread out, which made it feel less busy (even though there were a decent amount of people). It wasn’t clustered at all. Can’t speak to what it will be like on the weekends!
We were big fans of the music playing, especially Emerson who danced the night away!
I love that they were showing It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. We didn’t watch it, but I can only imagine how fun it would be to bring a blanket and watch it under the stars.
The BEST part of the entire event was the glowing pumpkin trail! There are over 1,000 pumpkins carved and displayed in all different ways. There are also a few other (non) spooky surprises along the way.
There were so many creative things!

How amazing are these? They also had live pumpkin carving going on. I am in awe of their talent. I’m not sure I can even carve pumpkins this year because my standards are too high!
There is SO MUCH MORE to see, but I don’t want to spoil it for you! I highly suggest going. The pumpkin trail is something very unique and new to Columbus. I haven’t seen anything else like it!
