Five Products to Solve My Fall Struggles in the Kitchen

There are five things I tend to struggle with in the kitchen once fall hits and guess what? I found FIVE items to help solve those struggles!

It’s fall time – my most favorite season and one of our busiest! The leaves are changing and the temps are dropping, which means apple orchards, pumpkin patches and Christmas lights are on the schedule. The girls are turning one next month and might I mention, eating everything in site and keeping me on my toes. The holiday gatherings are coming up. The list could go on and on because like I said, it is one of our busiest seasons! With that in mind, I was on the hunt for a few items to simplify a few things I struggle with this time of year!

1. Staying Hydrated

During the summer time, I have no problem drinking water. It’s hot outside and my body craves it. As it gets cooler, I am not that great at staying hydrated. This is where Trader Joe’s Organic Herbal Water comes to the rescue. They’re flavored with herbs and organic herbal extracts that give you a slight flavor. The herbal flavor is DELICIOUS! With zero calories, zero sugar and zero sweetener – you don’t get that weird artificial flavor and because it taste so good, I actually look forward to drinking it! I keep them ready to go in my fridge and diaper bag!

2. Grabbing Quick, Healthy Snacks

I’m not sure what happens, but as soon as fall time arrives, all I want is cookies, cookies and more cookies. They’re comforting and easy to grab. I was on the hunt for an alternative that still gives me that sweet craving and convinence factor, but are a bit healthier. The solution? Fruitons®! They are a fun, easy way to not only add real fruit to your diet, they’re the perfect flavorful, nutritious and very {healthy} convenient snack. Just grab a bag and start snacking. Or even sprinkle on granola, salads or even pasta if you’re using the sun-dried tomato Fruitons®.

I love snacking on the cherries and sprinkling the sun-dried tomatoes on pasta!

You can learn more about Fruitons® and see what else they offer here.

3. Making Easy & Delicious Meals

It seems like summer would be a busier season than the fall, but I don’t think it is. We are always on the go during the fall. Pumpkin patches, apple orchards, impromptu gatherings with friends, holidays with family and more. This leaves little time to get yummy dinners on the table. Luckily, RAGÚ has a new sauce out that helps create the most delicious and comforting dinner! RAGÚ SimplyTM Creamy Alfredo uses Cauliflower and milk vs. heavy cream, not only creating a delicious sauce, but one you feel better about serving to your family. My favorite way to serve it is with any type of shell pasta and topped Fruitons® sun-dried tomatoes. Yum!

Next recipe I want to try is Alfredo with Chicken & Tomato! You can find it on the RAGÚ website by clicking here.

4. Experimenting with New Foods/Getting Creative in the Kitchen

While I love a good fall family recipe, I also love getting creative and trying new things. With a busy schedule, it is sometimes hard to do that. I can spend all day on Pinterest, avoiding all the things I need to get done, but then I forget where I pinned the perfect recipe. There are usually a billion ingredients. My phone stops working. Internet goes out. Something always happens. Plus, I am a pen and pepper type of gal. This is where “THE NOODLE SOUP ORACLE: Hundreds of Possibilities for the World’s Favorite Comfort Food” cookbook comes into play. You read that right. HUNDREDS of possibilities all in one book.

What is really neat (and unique) about the cookbook is its not your traditional noodle soup guide, it’s a mix-and-match guide to building the dish you want to eat. What does that mean? It means you pick your food and then you pick your soup. It can be from scratch or from a box or can, depending what your timing looks like. Then, you choose your proteins, vegetables, and flourishes that will give your bowl color and character. These are tried and true recipes that inspire to to make unique dishes, just what I was looking for.

This isn’t your traditional noodle soup cookbook. It’s a mix-and-match guide to building the dish you want to eat.

5. Peeling Hard-Boiled Eggs

Seriously, this is such a problem for me. I just can’t peel them. When I do get the shell off, I end up destroying the egg. It’s never been my thing. That is until now. The Negg® makes the very annoying task of peeling eggs so easy, fast and fun. The Negg is actually the #1 hard-boiled egg peeler on the market. Fun fact, “naked egg” is what led to the name Negg®.

This gadget is SO EASY TO USE. You boil your eggs and get them in their ice bath to cool down (or whichever way you know best). Next, you add a bit of water to The Negg®, place one egg in and give a little shake, shake, shake. Off comes the shell!

I mean at this point, I might be able to be the next pro-deviled egg maker in my family! JK, The Beard and the Baker will always be the pro and if my Aunt Lynda ever gets on my blog, I take that back and she is the real MVP.

While these struggles might not necessarily go together, they all seem to pop up this time of year. Well, not anymore with these solutions! But, seriously. Try all of these things. They’re my fall favorites right now!
