Have you been to Ena’s Caribbean Kitchen on Cleveland Ave? If not, you’re missing out BIG TIME! Each time we’ve eaten there, we have been blown away by flavor. Each time wondering why we wait so long in between visits because you just don’t find food like this around Columbus. WOWZA.
Our Story: Ms. Ena was born in Mendez, Saint Catherine, Jamaica in the 50’s. This is where she mastered her craft of cooking and perfected her well-known jerk sauce. Immigrating to the United States in 1982 under the leadership of her husband, Lloyd Hayles, they moved their five children to the Linden Area of Columbus, Ohio.Known for their large Sunday family dinners, someone jokingly suggested the family open a restaurant. By December 1999, Ena’s Caribbean Kitchen opened its doors to the public in the same Linden Area they had immigrated to almost 20 years earlier. By 2004, Ena’s Caribbean Kitchen opened a larger location three doors down by renovating a dilapidated laundry mat. Currently, Ena’s Caribbean Kitchen has become one of Central Ohio’s favorite Caribbean restaurant and a staple within the Linden Area.

My favorite thing to get is the jerk chicken. It is dynamite – literally falls off the bone. The flavors that come off of it are insane – fragrant, fiery hot and smoky all at once.
The collard greens? 🤤 Tender, flavorful with a little crunch in the right spot.
I’m not sure I can even put into words the deliciousness of this food. It’s the type of food you take a bite of and then another one and then another one. It’s the type of food that you don’t talk about, you just keep eating. Like I said, get it on your list now if you’re looking for your next mouth watering meal.
