STORYBOOK TRAIL AT ALUM CREEK

This past fall, the girls and I went to the grand opening of the Storybook Trail at Alum Creek. It was such a sweet celebration and exciting to see the faces of everyone who was a part of the project. This is a fun thing to add to your family friendly lists.

Storybook Trail is a 1/2 mile long trail that brings books to life for children to learn while exploring the outdoors. Along the trail, you’ll come across 16 signs that lay out the story “In the Trees, Honey Bees!” by Lori Mortensen, chosen by the students of Alum Creek Elementary School. On the signs, you’ll also find facts, questions and other interactive ideas (buzzzzing like a bee, talking about things at home, making up your own bee dance, etc.)

This is such a great way to get out of the house for some FREE outdoor family fun. I love that you’re truly bringing the book the life, while exploring nature. You’re identifying, relating and showing in the book and in nature. I can’t wait to go back and see it this summer. I bet it is even more beautiful!

This was taken back in October 2019.
