Toddler Friendly Park in Dublin, OH | Amberleigh Community Park

Amberleigh Community Park is tucked away in a Dublin neighborhood, right off of Dublin Rd. This park has me instantly searching for a house in this neighborhood. It is A M A Z I N G, an outdoor oasis if you will. The park is home to walking trails, nature areas, rows and rows of gorgeous wildflowers, a unique playground with a play village (perfect for toddlers), a gorgeous shelter house and direct access to the Scioto River.

I found out about this park from someone on Facebook who shared that Towers Park reminded them of Amberleigh in Dublin. Thanks Kaitlyn! As soon as I looked it up, I knew we had to go. It had the similar house features that the girls loved at Towers Park during our visit the other day. It looked very toddler friendly, which meant I would have no problem taking them on my own.

We set off bright and early this morning to get there before it got too hot out and hoping we would be the only ones there. Well, we almost didn’t make it to the park! I looked the address up on google and it took me to a gated entrance that was closed. I was so disappointed because it took 25ish minutes to get there + it looked so neat. I knew it was a community park and didn’t think it would be gated – meaning, I didn’t give up just yet. I looked it up on google for another hint of how to find it within the neighborhood and luckily, I came across Visit Dublin’s website. They had a different address listed and it took me right there. Phew. Crisis adverted.

When you pull in, you will see the park to your left – but, keep going because the parking lot is at the bottom of the hill. When we parked, I chose to push the stroller back up that hill – not sure why. You can go to the right, where the wildflowers are, and there is a paved path right up to the park. You will also notice a huge shelter directly above the parking lot, there is stair access right there. Do not go back up the hill. Ha.

Playground

I like how the playgrounds are next to each other, but separated by a small pathway. It is easier to keep them in the more toddler friendly area that way.

We didn’t explore this part of the playground, but it looked like they had some really neat climbing features.

They had four swings. Two infant, two bigger kid.

Not sure if you noticed in the pictures above, but they have huge musical instruments for the kids to play with. I love when playgrounds have this feature.

The girls love our teeter totter at home. It only has two seats, so they were very excited they didn’t have to wait their turn.

I thought the village theme was pretty cute! You can tell it has been there for quite sometime, as it is pretty well loved – but, that didn’t stop the girls from having a blast! I love that they provide a bit of shade on these hot summer days.

They girls kept trying to the take food off of the shelves. They finally realized it was connected and not coming off!

The shelter house is stunning. It looked like something you would see out in the mountains. There were picnic tables, trashcans, grills and restrooms. The restrooms were closed. I did see drinking fountains that weren’t covered like most places, but didn’t try them out to see if they were turned on. I would imagine they weren’t? Just bring bottled water!

If you’re in the parking lot, facing the shelter house, to your right is where you will find this walking trail. It was completely shaded and felt like a wonderland – however, I got sort of freaked out going back there by myself with the girls. I am sure it was safe and would have been so much fun, but saving it for the next trip when Stephen comes with us! Plus, my luck, I would probably somehow get lost.

The park is absolutely gorgeous. Just before you get to the walking trail pictured above, you will see these stairs. They lead you down to river access. I saw a ton of people taking kayaks down there! Also, there is a ton of green space to just run free in.
