4 Family-Friendly Pumpkin Farms around Central Ohio

From pumpkin pie to jack-o’-lanterns to apple cider to campfire concessions, I am ready for all things fall. Things might look a bit different this season when it comes to exploring all of our local family farms, but they’re making the most of the times! They’re all working hard to help us build beautiful memories with our families in a safe way.

Here are FOUR of my favorite farms to visit during the fall

Disclaimer: Make sure to check the website or social media sites of the farm prior to visiting. Things change day to day and I would hate for you to make the venture out and be disappointed because something was closed!


Freeman’s Farm

Dates: September 19-20, September 26-27, October 3-4, October 10-11, 
October 17-18, October 24-25
Time: Saturday 10AM – 5 PM, Sunday 11AM – 5PM
Fall Market is open DAILY September 19th – October 31st. Weekdays Noon – 7PM, Saturday 10AM – 5 PM, Sunday 11AM- 5PM

Cost: Admission is free. There is a charge for food, some activities, and items purchased in the fall market.

  • Activities
    • Enjoy hayrides through scenic woods
    • Campfire concessions
      • Hotdogs, chili, chips, beverages
    • Farm animals petting area
    • Delicious fresh popped kettle corn
    • Scarecrow making, and apple butter making demonstrations over an open fire on select days.
    • Fall treats and decorations
      • Pumpkins, fall squash, gourds, decorations, jelly, jams, apple butter, candy, apples, cider and fall gifts.

Safety Procedures
Only service dogs allowed this season; no pets allowed on the farm.
– They’re asking all guests to adhere to CDC recommendations for social distancing and face mask recommendations.

Leeds Farm

Dates: Saturdays and Sundays, September 19th – October 31st
Time: 10AM – 5PM

Cost: $12 + $2 service fee (Ages 3-54). You can choose to add on Big Zip for $3 more. Pre-purchased tickets are required for every guest ages 3-54. You can purchase them here.

  • Activities
    • 40 barnyard activities, hayrides, farm animals, and farm pond.
      • Combine slide, corn box, holstein hustle, zip line, pedal carts, mountain slides and more.
      • Feed the goats and visit the pigs.
      • Listen for donkeys to bray.
    • Feed the fish from their pond bridge.
  • Find the perfect pumpkin to take home with you. They have thousands of pumpkins, including blue pumpkins, fairytale pumpkins, exotic shapes of gourds and more.
  • Food and beverage options will be available with altered and/or reduced menu offerings to expedite lines. Price : ($3 – $6)

Safety Procedures
– Masks are required in outdoor and indoor spaces per government mandates
– Hand wash stations are located in the permanent restroom facility and animal barn. Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the farm.
– Some activities will be briefly closed temporarily during the day for sanitizing.
– When purchasing tickets, you sign a waiver confirming certain thing sin relation to COVID-19 (you haven’t traveled outside of US in 21 days, no symptoms in past 21 days, no one in your house has tested positive for COVID, etc.)

Lehner’s Pumpkin Farm

Dates: September 19th – October 31st
Time: Weekend Hours 10AM – 7PM, Monday 10AM – 3PM, Tues-Thurs 4:30PM – 7PM. Check daily calendar here for specific hours.

Cost: $9 for guests ages 3-17, $7 for guests 18-59, and free for children under 3, as well as visitors over 59. Admission covers all activities with the exception of the sling shot, paintball shooting range and arrowhead hunting areas. Weeknight prices are cheaper because not all of the activities will be open.   • Activities
    • Shop Shellyโ€™s Gift Shop
    • Purchase pumpkins. They have approximately 40 acres of pumpkins and gourds. Pumpkins range in price from $2.00 for pie pumpkins up to $10 for a very, large carving pumpkin.
    • Explore over 40 outdoor activities – corn maze, tire rollers, barnyard golf, farm animals and more. They have a reduced amount of activities open during the week. See the list of open weeknight activities here.
    • Eat yummy food. You can view the options here. Food ranges from $1.25 – $8.50 for most food items. Weeknight prices are cheaper because NOT ALL OF THE ACTIVITIES WILL BE OPEN. 

Safety Procedures:
– All employees will be wearing masks.
– Employees will receive temperature/health checks before each check.
– Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, activities and attractions regularly throughout the day.
– Plenty of space to explore the farm, but they will be limiting the number of guests in the buildings, in specific areas and at certain activities.
– Enormous amount of sanitizer stations around the farm
– Signs throughout the farm directing the flow of people.

Pigeon Roost

Dates: September 18 through October 31, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (closed Mon-Thurs)
Time: 10 AM to 7 PM, last entry at 6PM

Cost: There is no admission charge to their Market, Pumpkin Area, and Parking Lots. Admission to the great pumpkin fun center is $8 for ages 2 and older. Under two are FREE.
