East Granville Road Park in Worthington holds a special place in my heart as it is one of my go-to spots for spending quality time with the girls. As a former nanny, I always loved taking them to this park because it has everything you need without being too crowded or overwhelming. The park boasts a VERY well-loved playground, a free library surrounded by cozy benches, a charming wishing well, and a shelter house with ample picnic tables. However, my absolute favorite part of the park is the serene Moses Wright Nature area, which features stunning woodlands and gentle trails that are ideal for little feet.
A fascinating tidbit about the area is that the land on which it now stands was once owned by the esteemed Worthington lawyer and Judge James E. Wright, as well as his descendants, including his son Moses Wright.
As you make your way along the trail, you’ll come across a spacious clearing nestled among the trees. This delightful spot is perfect for letting little ones run around and play to their heart’s content! It’s especially enjoyable during the autumn season, when the crisp leaves make a satisfying crunching sound underfoot.
This trail is perfect for the little ones, with just the right amount of distance to cover, an easy-to-walk-on path, and plenty of cool things to check out along the way. They’ll have a blast taking in all the amazing scenery!
One of Worthington’s oldest trees can be found just off of the walking trail. They have a ladder for the kids to climb up on which is a fun addition to the walk.
If you’ve ever driven down 161, then chances are you’ve caught a glimpse of this playground. While it may not be the most extravagant or modern playground, it still manages to provide plenty of fun and entertainment for the little ones. With ample space to run, classic features like monkey bars and slides, and lots of climbing opportunities, what more could you really ask for?
Oh, and I can’t forget to mention all of the leaves right now! With trees in every direction, there’s no shortage of leaves to be found. The girls had an absolute blast walking through the colorful foliage, tossing the leaves in the air, and examining their intricate patterns up close.

Parking
Although there is a limited parking lot, I have personally never had difficulty finding a spot there. In the event that the lot is full, street parking is also available as an alternative.
