The Wetlands
The Woodlands
I love these binoculars I ordered from Amazon. They’re small enough for the girls to use and they actually work really well. They range from $7-$11. You can find them here.
When you’re walking in the Woodlands area, you’ll come upon stairs on your right hand side. You can’t miss it! When you walk down the stairs, you’ll see a creek/rocks. There wasn’t any water in there when we visited, but maybe after a couple of rainy days there would be?
The bird sanctuary is located to the right of the parking lot. They have 3 or 4 birds right now. In case you missed it up top, the aviary is in partnership with Ohio Nature Education of Johnstown, Ohio.
You’ll find the Pollinator garden directly to the right of the Nature Center.
Next to the Pollinator garden, there is a trail with a small natural play area and picnic table. It looked a little steep on the sides, so we didn’t walk much further than the picnic table. It was really pretty in and completely shaded.
The Nature Center recently re-opened and is a great way to start or finish your time at the park. They have animal ambassadors, books, staff to answer all your questions and more.
