We’ve been calling it the “Bunny Park” for years, but its official name is the Ballantrae Community Park. This awesome spot is hands down our all-time favorite splash pad to hit up. You’ll find it in Dublin, just a hop away from 33. With its open design, unique rock formation, and a gazillion fountains shooting off at different heights and pressures, this place is an absolute blast for everyone.
One of the things we love about the Bunny Park is that it has single fountains shooting off on the outer edges, while clusters of fountains are in the middle, making it a breeze for little ones to enjoy. If you need a breather, you can snag one of the picnic tables (they go fast!) or sprawl out on the lush green space with a blanket for a picnic. If you feel like taking a stroll, don’t forget to stop by the pond and say hello to the ducks. And as you make your way back to the parking lot, be sure to walk up the hill and check out three Giant Dancing Hares.
Speaking of the Giant Dancing hares, did you know these massive sculptures, up to 24 feet tall, were commissioned by London artist Sophie Ryder in 2001? Inspired by the spring courtship of rabbits, where they stand up on their hind legs to “box” for mates and territory, Ryder created three impressive sculptures. The Dancing Hares were crafted from metal scraps, including pipes, hammers, and screws, with everyday household objects embedded in the sculptures. As you admire these stunning works of art, challenge yourself to a scavenger hunt to find the embedded objects hidden within the sculptures. The Ballantrae Giant Dancing Hares have become a beloved local favorite and an exciting part of Dublin’s artistic landscape.

Tip: Remember to bring some water toys with you! We didn’t bring any and had to improvise with our lunch plates (which turned out to be quite hilarious, to be honest). To avoid a similar situation, just pack a few cups or containers that the kids can fill up and splash around with. Trust us, they’ll thank you for it and I bet play even longer!
