Support Local Businesses with Downtown Lunch Bucks

It’s no secret that I love Downtown Columbus. It is filled with hidden gems, from local coffee shops and restaurants to beautiful greenspaces and unique parks. There is always something happening Downtown.

If you work or live downtown, you might be familiar with the Downtown Lunch Bucks program, but if not – don’t worry, I will tell you all about it!

It’s simple. On Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 11 am – 2 pm, you can pick up a ticket good for $10 toward a meal from participating Downtown restaurants – the perfect way to try someplace new and support our local restaurants. All you need to do is head to one of the distribution locations around Downtown (listed below) to pick up your ticket.

  • Lazaraus Building – 150 S. Front Street
  • Capital Crossroad & Dscovery Special Improvement Districts – 23 N 4th Street
  • Experience Columbus Visitor Center – Arena District – 277 W. Nationwide Blvd #125
  • Columbus Museum of Art -480 E. Broad Street
  • NEW! Now on Tuesdays, you can pick up your LunchBucks at the Pearl Market. Scroll down for all the details about where to get your LunchBucks.

You can view the participating restaurants here. It is a GREAT list and includes so many of my favorite places.

CDDC will reimburse restaurants based on the number of vouchers they have received.

“One thing that we want to make sure of is that we’re supporting our small businesses who have worked so hard to survive the past two years,” CDDC President Amy Taylor said. “It’s a way to remind people of all the things that they love Downtown, especially our great restaurants.”

Remember that the vouchers are only valid on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for lunch (11 am – 2 pm) the week they are distributed. Another thing, vouchers are limited each day (200 per week) and only available while supplies last. Arriving at 11 am is your best bet!!

A few things to keep in mind …..
  • While this is a great, low-cost way to be reintroduced to delicious Downtown dishes, be prepared to pay for the remainder of your meal and please tip based on the pre-voucher value of your meal. Remember, this is about supporting our small businesses!
  • You must be at least 18 years old to claim a LunchBucks voucher.
  • LunchBucks can’t be used on orders including booze, so you’ll have to imbibe on your own dime.
  • Tickets must be picked up in person and redeemed in real life for dine-in or carryout orders. They can’t be applied to online orders.
  • Get more details + the participating restaurants here.

Oh, and if you’re looking for a coffee shop downtown – check out this reel of a few of my favorites.

Can’t wait to hear if you find a new favorite place to eat lunch!
