The Ultimate End-of-Summer Event: Dorrian Days!

Can’t believe school’s just around the corner! For some of you, it might even be starting THIS WEEK. My girls? They’re holding on to summer until the first week of September. I find myself torn between soaking up every quiet moment with them and chasing all the adventures we can find. But, iff you’re on the hunt for something to do as summer winds down, I’ve got a tip for you! Just last week, we stumbled upon a fantastic event, perfect for family fun – Dorrian Days. Trust me, it’s a wonderful way to give summer the stylish send-off it deserves!

Tomorrow marks the FINAL Dorrian Day of the season, and the theme promises loads of fun: Farm Days! I can’t believe we waited all summer to attend this event; it’s super fun and FREE. Better late than never, right?

It’s happening from 11am – 2 pm, conveniently located right in front of the COSI – Center of Science and Industry at 50 S Belle St.

  • Jump into the bouncy fun with SuperGames inflatables & games.
  • Treat the kids to face painting by Pretty as a Princess faceprint. They are the summer face painting MVPs! Not only are they incredibly fast, but their work is top-notch.
  • Dive into fabulous themed activities courtesy of local favorites: COSI and Franklin Park Conservatory.
  • Feeling hungry after all the fun or thinking about dinner? The Local Matters Veggie Van is ready to serve you with an array of nutritious delights. Their prices are incredibly affordable; I snagged a massive bag for just $25 last week. Pro tip: Bring a reusable bag and score a $2 discount!
  • And with the heat of the day, the sprayground is the perfect spot to refresh and have a splash! You can come in your bathing suits or change int he bathrooms located right next to them!

For those looking to make the most of the day, consider pairing your Dorrian Days experience with a visit to COSI. If you’ve yet to see the ‘TUTANKHAMUN – His Tomb and His Treasures’ exhibit, you’re in luck โ€“ it’s available until September 4th.”

Tip: I know a lot of you get a bit nervous parking downtown. I am hear to take that nervousness away! For the most convenient option, the Underground garage right in front of COSI is available. Though it’s a paid spot, the ease of access makes it worth every penny. If you’re aiming for a steal, you’re in luck! Last week, we managed to nab a street parking spot and used the Columbus parking app, costing us a mere $2. Behind the JUNTO hotel – just across from COSI – you’ll find additional garages and even more on-street parking options.

Don’t forget that the Dorrian Park playground is super fun. Check out this blog post to see all that it offers.
