Exploring Family Fun at Miller Park in Upper Arlington

Nestled in a charming neighborhood in Upper Arlington, Miller Park is a fantastic spot for families seeking outdoor fun and a sense of community. As a mom to three lively daughters, all 5.5 years old, finding a playground that matches their endless energy is a big win. And let me tell you, Miller Park is truly a hidden gem, especially for kids their age!

The playground at Miller Park is a paradise for kids. My girls were immediately drawn to it when we arrived. With swings, shaded areas, slides, and sturdy rope climbing options, there was something for everyone. They couldn’t get enough of exploring every corner and having a blast. It’s safe to say, this playground stole their hearts.

One thing that makes Miller Park stand out is its commitment to inclusivity. The accessible ramp connecting different play areas and the chosen flooring ensure that every child, regardless of ability, can join in the fun. This dedication to accessibility truly reflects the park’s ethos of inclusivity and community spirit.

But here’s the cherry on top: right behind the playground is the Miller Park Branch of the Upper Arlington Public Library, which not only offers a fun exploration opportunity but also hosts some seriously cool (and free!) events for families. Here are a few that caught my eye:

  • Crafty Kids Club: Donuts – Friday, May 03, 10:00am – 12:00pm
  • Crafty Kids Club: Strawberries – Friday, May 31, 10:00am – 12:00pm
  • Crafty Kids Club: Fish – Friday, June 28, 10:00am – 12:00pm
  • Crafty Kids Club: Space – Friday, July 26, 10:00am – 12:00pm

They also have other fun events coming up like:

  • Touch a City Truck: Friday, June 14, 10:30am – 11:30am – Get to see big trucks up close when the City of Upper Arlington Public Works Division brings them to the library.
  • Fun Day Carnival: Thursday, July 25, 6:30pm – 7:30pm – A free outdoor carnival with games like a book walk, bean bag toss, parachute play, and more. It’s going to be a blast!

I love a good combo area, and what’s better than a playground and an awesome library! Make sure to visit this summer! You can find the library and park here — 1901 Arlington Ave, Columbus, OH 43212. They have a small parking lot, but lots of on-street parking.
