Summer’s end brings school shopping and family outings to the forefront, and for us, Tanger Outlets in Sunbury has become a go-to spot.
Our recent visits to Tanger Outlets were filled with amazing finds. We snagged skorts and flip flops for just $4 at Old Navy, adorable lobster-themed shirts for vacation from J.Crew Outlet, and a cute crossbody (#momlife) from Kate Spade—all without driving around. Plus, we couldn’t resist adding a Team USA hat from Nike and beach-themed Jibbitz from Crocs to our haul. And to top it off, a treat of Dippin’ Dots and playtime at the playground made it a perfect day out. Did I mention the playground area is COVERED and GATED!?

But the fun didn’t stop there! We discovered Second Saturdays—a free event series that happens every Second Saturday from noon to 2 pm near the Nike Factory Store. Recently, we enjoyed the “Hometown Superheroes” theme. Imagine touching fire trucks, meeting local heroes from the fire department, Delaware EMS, and Sheriff’s Office, and grooving to live music by Whisky Business and the George Barrie Band. And when hunger struck, Tortilla food trucks saved the day with delicious bites. Oh, and can’t forget the bounce house to get all that extra energy out.
With more Second Saturdays events lined up—like the Chalk Festival in August, TangerKids Carnival in September, and Pumpkin Party in October—we’re already planning our next trips. These events promise fun for everyone, blending shopping, entertainment, and community spirit in one vibrant setting.
