When you think of fall, what comes to mind? To me, fall means all things pumpkin, hay rides, farm animals, corn boxes, the trees changing and just spending quality time with your loved ones outdoors. Lucky for us, just a short drive west of Columbus – we can have all of that in one spot.

Now that you have a quick glimpse of everything they offer, I want to share our day with you! We had a wonderful day exploring the farm. We were lucky enough to sneak away on a Monday, which was perfect because they weren’t very busy. The girls are still a little young for some of the activities, but with it not being very busy – they were able to explore a bit more.
We have been to Young’s many times on our way to and from Yellow Springs, however, it’s typically to grab a quick bite to eat. They have two options – The Golden Jersey Inn and The Dairy Store. We haven’t eaten at The Golden Jersey Inn, but touring it, it felt like a fancier Cracker Barrel. I hear there homemade Chicken & Dumplings and Buttermilk Chicken are fantastic. If we didn’t have the girls, we may have tried it out.
Per usual, we were not disappointed in our choice to eat at The Dairy Store (our go-to, must stop place). They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. My most favorite thing to get is the cheese curds! Young’s Farmstead fried cheddar cheese curds with sides of buffalo and sweet chili to be exact.
Fun Fact: Both restaurants use their Farmstead Cheese made 100% with their Jersey cow milk.
Holy smokes are these things good. They’re always fresh and crispy. We make sure two get two orders because you don’t want to share these!
Something I hadn’t had before, but fell in love with instantly, were the pumpkin donut holes.
Irresistible pumpkin & cinnamon sugar goodness!
I went with the burger this time. It wasn’t anything special, but it did its job.
We haven’t had their breakfast menu, but when we saw pumpkins french toast – we knew we had to order it. It is made with their pumpkin bread and it was fantastic. Wonderful pumpkin spice goodness creates a fall breakfast like no other.
Next to the cheese curds, the show stopper has to be their homemade ice cream. The creamy texture elevates each flavor. I don’t think I’ve ever tried a flavor I didn’t love.
As I mentioned, they are a working dairy farm, which means they have cows – sometimes even a sweet little calf (or two). If you’re there around 4:30 to 5:30 PM, you’ll get the chance to watch them milk their cows from the public area of the barn. Get your questions ready because they’re ready to answer them! The employees, not the cows. 😉
Besides the cows, they have the friendliest goats out there! Make sure you grab a cup of goat food because they’re going to be looking for it! One might even give you a smile. 😛
We typically don’t take full advantage of everything they offer, but this visit we did. I was blown away by how much they offer! I suggest purchasing the Young’s Family Fun Pass. Depending on which you choose, Young’s Family Fun Wristbands allow you to choose from three or five of any the following choices:

There are activities for ALL ages!
How cute are these three little farmers on their tractors? I just can’t handle it!
We were lucky enough to have Grandma there to enjoy the day with us!
I love that this area is covered. Now that the weather actually feels like fall, it’s not that big of a deal, but when we went – – it was a nice, sunny 85 degree fall day!
Don’t let her smile fool you. These girls LOVE to put the corn in their mouth. After about 5-10 minutes, more than likely there will only be one sister left in the corn!
Stephen was most excited about the covered batting cages! It features slow & fast pitch softball as well as 4 different speeds of baseball.
You get 12 pitches for $1.50. 4 tokens for $5 or 10 tokens for $10.
A welcomed surprised were the two miniature golf courses, both 18 holes and each filled with their own challenges (and themes).
If you click here, you’ll be directed to their website. At the top, you will see “FUN” – click it! That will give you ALL the info on what to do, pricing and hours.
When we visited, it wasn’t officially time for pumpkin picking, however, they were setting it up! To the right of the dairy store, you will find pre-picked pumpkins and there ever so famous “Pumpkin Patch” sign. I believe that is where you line up for the wagon ride, too!
Not sure if they loved the pumpkins or the mulch better.

Huge thank you to John, who showed us around the farm and gave us a little insight into their past, present and future.
P.S. – You can watch them make ice cream in this window, which was actually the original spot where people would pick up their milk!
