Fun Spots for June 6 – June 12

  • City of Powell kicks of their Lolli-Pops Summer Kids Concert Series with Chip Richter at 10:30 a.m. Monday morning! Make sure to get their early to find parking close by.
  • Head to the Westerville Community Center to pick up a punch card for the Preschool Playground Tour. If you attend six, your kiddo will get a fun t-shirt. Monday kicks off the first of nine weeks at Alum Creek Park North at 221 W. Main St.
  • Trying to beat the heat? Monday – Thursday, Paddington will be playing at the Gahanna Cinemark for $1 at 11:00.
  • Tuesday evening looks like great weather for Movies by Monlight at Easton. Bring a bucket of popcorn, a blanket and enjoy Wizard of Oz outdoors at dusk.
  • FountainSide returns to the Scioto mile this Wednesday. Kick off this fun outdoor series on the wild side with Columbus Zoo & Aquarium. Act out summer scenes with Dramatic Impact. Create your very own crown with Miss Ohio 2015, Sarah Hider or just go to enjoy the fountains!
  • Ohio Creative Collective is hosting the perfect girls night on Wednesday evening. Summer Coloring Partystarts at 6:30 at Lineage in Clintonville. Don’t forget its BYOC – bring your own coloring supplies!
  • Get a hands-on, up-close look at a few different reptiles at the Hilliard libraries P.T. Reptiles – Reptiles 101 event from 11-12 and 12-1. All ages welcome!
  • Join Worthington and Flint’s Underground Railroad connections to learn about the history of Flint, its schools, and the role of both Flint and the village of Worthington during the Underground Railroad with a bus tour starting Friday at 1:00.
  • KidX Summer Kick-Off: X Marks the Spot takes place Friday at the fountain in the Polaris Lifestyle Center.
  • Grab your boots and hat for an old-fashioned hoedown. Your kiddos will ride their own make-believe horses across the open range to get to the ranch for crafts and fun at Everal Barn on Friday morning.
  • MOJO Flo kicks off Creekside Live, a FREE summer concert series featuring summer entertainment headlined by popular bands from Central Ohio!
  • 400 West Rich will be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC Friday evening as a part of Franklinton Fridays, with three monthly exhibition series, Open Studios, and our Handmade Market!
  • Park Street Festival starts on Friday and goes through Saturday evening. Live music, food trucks, arts, crafts and more!
  • Head down to the riverfront for the Columbus Arts Festival, starting Friday and going through Sunday. You don’t want to miss this festival, it is fabulous!
  • Silly Sets is hosting a FREE playday for 2-4 year olds on Saturday from 10:30 – 11:15.
  • Learn the secrets of breathing your way towards health and happiness! Get Happy Columbus presents a yoga-based technique that targets healing and stress. This class is totally free on Saturday but space is limited, so please email elisabethw@luckysmarket.com to register.
  • Zombiewalk is back for their 9th annual walk in downtown Columbus. The festivities will start at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
  • Moonlight Market will fill the Gay St. Saturday evening with local vendors, food and music!
  • You still have time to snag tickets to see Ray LaMontagne at Columbus Commons on Saturday night.
  • The Clintonville Farmers’ Market will be showing us fun ways to plant seeds on Sunday at The Crest. Best for kiddos 12 and under, but feel free to bring the entire family! Did you know that kids eat free on Sundays at The Crest??
  • Last but not least, my weekly brunch suggestion! Check out Hamptons on King on Saturday or Sunday for an incredible brunch. They just had their brunch debut this past weekend and the food looks AMMAAZZIIINGGGG!!
