Northstar Breakfast

If you’ve lived in Columbus for any amount of time, I am sure that you have been to Northstar. If you haven’t, you must get there ASAP. One of my favorite spots for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Consistently delicious and overall pretty healthy! Add on one of their cookies the size of your head and it may be another story.

Lucky for me, they put a location just down the street from us in Uptown Westerville. It is my favorite location. Not only because it is closest, but, because it is simply gorgeous inside and they have the most friendly staff ever.

standards that all restaurants should follow, in my opinion.

If you’re looking for fresh juice, I suggest getting the shooting star.

I love there artwork. Meaningful and beautiful.

Single Origin Coffee with free refills. They also offer cold-brew if thats more your thing.

This is the dreamiest corner. The natural light. The colors. Oddly enough, it’s always available when I go. Think its meant to be.

Ginger Ale: ginger, organic cane sugar, lime juice and mint. This is house-made and if you’re a fan of gingerale, I suggest trying it out. It isn’t like your canned ginger ale, much more ginger forward. A bit spicy. I enjoyed it.

My suggestion is to go with someone who will share with you, that way you can eat EVERYTHING! I order the frittata and subbed potatoes (because my sister ordered them) for a ricotta pancake. I had no idea you could do that. I always want to order the pancakes, but, it’s just too much and I like more of a savory breakfast. This was the perfect balance. After I posted this picture on IG, someone said they sub bacon. I didn’t even think of that. While I love the biscuit, I would probably see if I could sub that for bacon. Perfect breakfast!

Mushroom Frittata: Three Organic Valley eggs, hearth baked with roasted mushrooms, sweet onions and gruyere. Served with breakfast potatoes and a fresh biscuit. Biscuit is served with Michigan black cherry preserves.

Breakfast Potatoes from Northstar, like many things on their menu, are the best. They are always perfectly crispy. Nothing worse than undercooked potatoes! They have added in a pepper. Not sure which kind, but, I feel like maybe there is a spicy and sweet pepper in there? Maybe just my tastebuds, but, its the perfect combination.

Cloud Nine Pancakes: ricotta pancakes served with real maple syrup and bananas. I was so happy to hear I could sub out the potatoes for $1.50. The perfect size and addition to my breakfast.
