Wine tastings. They’re the best, right? You get to taste before you buy. You get to try a variety of wines, usually finding a favorite that you normally wouldn’t have thought to try.
You know whats even better? Holiday wine tastings. Mostly because they bring out the fancy wines and depending on how much you normally want to spend on wine, this might be the only time of year you indulge in the fancier choices. Also, the questions come up – what do you drink with the Christmas ham? What goes best with prime rib? What’s the best sparkling wine to celebrate New Years with? Which wine will overpower the burnt pumpkin pie I am bringing? Ha. There will be experts on hand helping to answer any and every question you have! Plus, the hard work is taken out of deciding which bottle of wine to bring to the holiday party. No more playing ‘wine roulette’ and hoping you make a good choice.
While Columbus is lucky enough to have wine tastings around town throughout the year, December is jammed packed with them – making it *almost to* hard to decide which to go to! For the record, I am not complaining. I’ve listed each of the holiday wine tastings I could find! As more pop up, I will update the list. So, makes sure to bookmark it!
Downtown Holiday Wine Tasting

Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

This event operates similarly to their monthly 10 for $15 wine tastings with a bit of a twist. The wine sampled at this event is all between $20 – $50 a bottle, and they will only sell 100 tickets! It is a truly exclusive, intimate tasting you don’t want to miss. On top of tasting some of the best Champagnes and high end reds out there, they will have their chef’s bar full of the classic foods of the holidays! Roasted Turkey and Gravy, our Housemade Mashed Potatoes, Sweet Potato Casserole, Honey Roasted Ham and more will be available for everyone to enjoy! Local breweries will be there with festive beers to sample, and local food and gift vendors will be there to help you figure out the best appetizers, snacks and gifts for your special gatherings!
Columbus Winter Wine Show

Parking: Ample street parking is available on Broad and CMA has a $5 lot directly behind the museum.
Cost: Tickets are $50 for General Admission (7 – 9 p.m.) or $75 for VIP Entry (6 – 9 p.m.). A portion of ticket sales for the 2017 Columbus Winter Wine show will support our non-profit partner, YMCA of Central Ohio and their efforts toward youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. One night. 100+ wines. All the fun. Just in time for the holiday season, a specially-curated assortment of 100 wines from around the world will be presented to guests, from red to white, dry to sweet, sparkling to still, and everything in between! Light food will be provided for guests of the Winter Wine Show. VIP ticket holders can enter early at 6 p.m. and enjoy a set of additional premium wines only being poured from 6 – 7 p.m. as well as all other 100 wines. Admission includes access to the museum for all guests during the tasting.
