Hall of Two Truths

Before Lindsey, from the blog ‘A City Explored’ and I went and fangirled over Ed Sheehan, we stopped at Hall of Two Truths to check out their food menu. I have been looking forward to seeing what they would do with the menu and what type of food they would choose. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed – a small, yet powerful menu, perfectly designed to be shared. While it was hard to choose, we went with the fries (duh) and the fried green tomatoes.

FORBIDDEN FRUIT – CORN MEAL CRUSTED FRIED GREEN TOMATOES SERVED WITH LIMA BEAN RELISH & GOAT CHEESE. CAN I JUST START WITH THE QUESTION OF, “WHY HAVE I NEVER HAD GOAT CHEESE WITH FGT?!” WHAT A COMBINATION. HAPPY TO REPORT THE FRIED GREEN TOMATOES WERE PERFECTLY CRISP AND HAD THE CRUNCH OF A PEPPER- THEY DIDN’T GET MUSHY AT ALL WHEN FRIED, WHICH WAS A RELIEF. NOTHING WORSE THAN MUSHY FGT. THE GOAT CHEESE ADDED A BIT OF TANG AND A GREAT CREAMY TEXTURE TO BALANCE OUT THE FRIED COATING.

HALL FRIES – PECORINO ROMANO + STEEPED GUAJILLO PEPPER AIOLI. YOU ALSO HAVE THE CHOICE OF JALAPEÑO DUSTED, WHITE TRUFFLE OR SEA SALT & FRESH-CRACKED PEPPER. I WANTED EACH TOPPING. TYPE OF FRIES YOU CAN’T STOP EATING.

Next time, I am for sure getting the ‘Jewls of the Nile’ [deep fried risotto balls, duck confit, house luxardo bbq sauce, caramelized jameson onions] and the ‘Tender Expenditure’ [Irish butter marinated lobster claws napping in between a 10” flour tortilla shell with a cojita cheese & charred elote style corn].⠀⠀

Highly suggest getting in there – such a cool vibe. Bonus: the cocktail menu is just as creative as the food menu, featuring quality, custom creations + the classics you’re familiar with.

ON OUR WAY TO ED SHEERAN, WHICH ENDED UP BEING AN INCREDIBLE CONCERT! WE HAD WAYYYYYYY TOO MUCH FUN, IF THAT IS EVEN POSSIBLE!
